We our confident that our comprehensive 7-point grading system will provide a clear understanding of the item you possess.
Here is our 7 Point System:
1. "ORIGINALITY"
Is your item real or counterfeit? Has it been processed? (i.e. cleaned, washed, repaired or enhanced)
2. "FOLDS/CREASES"
How many folds or creases are present? It is often difficult to see soft folds or even flattened ones.
3. "REPAIRS/RESTORATIONS"
Has your currency been fixed, repaired, mended, restored, or otherwise redone? It is hard to tell these days with small splits and tears being well done over.
4. "CLEANING/IMPROVEMENTS"
Many notes have been touched up to appear better than they really are. Of course, in some cases, this is not necessarily a bad thing. For instance, if a note is "UNCIRCULATED" but has a thumbprint or other blemish that makes the note look less appealing, then a removal, when done correctly, will restore its original look without damaging the item. But when currency is completely redone, it should have a marked down sales price and made known to the buyer.
Remember, it is not an honest practice for those who clean or add to a piece of currency to hide its natural state. We will report to you if the note has been "PRESSED" or "CLEANED", or improved in any way best we can. We will also make comment to whether or not we believe it to take away from its value.
5. "MARGINS/CENTERING"
Many folks including the stamp collectors like a note that has large margins and well centered. This is most important in higher grades but still desirable in all grades. Some series or issues will not have large margins as to the way they were printed but others should have the ability to have all four sides showing margin between the notes printed. In cases of higher graded notes we will reportif the margins are desirable to its grade such as extra large margins on an uncirculated note are a plus, and the centering being straight is also an added bonus. Sharp corners attest to its well-preserved state as well as straight corners not folded or nudged.
6. "CIRCULATION"
Has your note been circulated lightly, moderately, or heavily?
7. "MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTS"
We will in most cases make a noted comment in grading area of grading tab such as “ERROR” “REPAIRED” “RESTORED” “PIN HOLES” etc. If we feel the note is washed or processed, we may return the item submitted for grading to the owner with NO ENCAPSULATION. In such instances, we will refund appropriately and charge only for the grading service.
